How do I see myself smaller? I know that I still have quite a bit to lose, but I know I've also come a long way. But why can't I wrap my head around it. I still see myself at almost 190 lbs. Although, I now have more developed triceps instead of fat, I still expect to see my arm waving back at me when I greet people. It's just very surreal for me sometimes, this whole process. Someone at work called me "thin" yesterday! Me...thin?!? What? I'm not thin, but I know realistically that I am smaller than what I used to be. I just have a hard time seeing it. Does it get better? Will I always be vacillating like this? Yesterday, I was so excited. Today, I am back to being the fat girl. What is my problem?

Life of a single mother...
My DH is out of town for a few days, and I have had to experience first hand what it would be like if I were a single mom. Honestly, I don't know how these women do it. They are strong, and amazing because I am truly beat. I have been up non-stop, and I just haven't had a second to rest until now. Between work and the kids, I really don't have one thing left. I will be really glad when he comes back tomorrow evening.
I've also noticed that I want to snack more when I am lonely. However, I identified that loneliness and called DH instead of snacking blindly. I feel that was a major accomplishment for me. I also didn't stress eat even though there was a cheesecake at work that was REALLY calling my name.

NSV's!
I LOVE non-scale victories (NSV's). It's nice for the numbers on the scale to go down, but it's the things that have nothing to do with the scale that really stick with me and get/keep me motivated.
Today, I was elated to try on clothes for a trip that our family will be taking in about 2 weeks. I can finally say that I am comfortably wearing a size 8! I haven't seen that size since before I was married. My skinny jeans are now swimming on me, and for the first time since I started this journey, I can look at myself and tell I've lost weight. It's just such validation for all the hard work that I have put into this. It's wonderful to see it paying off.
I've now got the momentum to carry me through. I've got 18 more pounds to go before getting to my WW goal, but I am sure I will lose more to get to my personal satisfaction. So, here's to the next 18 pounds!
